The District has one (1) elected supervisor position open for a three year period. Nomination papers must be received at the District Office no later than October 16, 2008. Any person who desires to run for the office of District Supervisor must be a registered, resident voter within the boundaries of the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District (Androscoggin and Sagadahoc Counties). Beat the 2009 price increases and pre-order your compost bin package now. ►Above item can now be ordered and paid for Highlights: Come to a Homeowner's Energy Conservation Workshop for October 8, 2008 at 6:30pm in the Lewiston City Hall's Council Meeting Room. Guest speakers include: a representative from Maine Housing Authority; Community Concepts; Ron Desrosier with Resource Conservation & Development's Time and Tide; Stephen Carr, energy audit consultant. Cost is only $7 per person. Not only will you hear some great presentations but you will walk away with hands outs that will show you some quick, easy and inexpensive ways to save. Pre register by September 29th, 2008 by submitting payment. Postponed to October 23, 2008 Go to our workshop page to learn more about the Farm Energy Conservation Social being hosted for farmers. A.J. Ballard, an energy auditor with Efficiency Maine, will give a PowerPoint presentation covering topics such as farm energy audits, reduction of energy consumption and financial programs. USDA Rural Development, Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation service will provide information about financial programs available. There will be plenty of time for networking opportunities as well. Pre register by October 17, 2008. Refreshments will be provided. $10 per person A farm bill workshop will be hosted in Lewiston on November 6, 2008. Details will soon be posted on this homepage and on the workshop page.
